Bitter Leaf (Vernonia amygdalina) is a leaf that grows in West Africa and is used to prepare the popular Bitter Leaf soup.  It is also used to prepare the popular Cameroonian dish of Ndole and can be added to make a variety of dishes for its distinctive distinctive bitter taste.  The Igbos, Hausas & Yorubas of Nigeria call it Onugbu, Shiwaka & Ewuro respectively.
