Ofor Powder - Soup Thickner
Ofor powder is a soup thickening spice used locally in Nigeria. The powder can be prepared with Oha vegetable leaves or added as a thickener to soups such as Egusi soup etc. It can also be used in place of cocoyam powder for bitter leave soup or as an alternative to achi.
Ofor is the name given to the spice by the Igbo people of Nigeria. The Yorubas call it “Ogbogdo” while the Hausas call it “Taura”.
